Registered Nurse - Surgical Short Stay Unit Days
About The Position
Registered Nurses at Centralus are key members of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the Tompkins County community. Practicing to the full scope of their license, RNs actively contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services. They collaborate with colleagues in a shared governance environment to improve patient outcomes and deliver optimal patient-centered care. This is an onsite, part-time day position at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, New York. The schedule is two 12-hour shifts per week, with weekends and holidays as assigned. No travel is expected. The pay range is $38.63 to $47.18 per hour, plus benefits.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Active New York State RN license.
- Obtain BLS during the introductory period.
- Complete ACLS and PALS by the end of orientation.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient and family assessments and develop person-centered care plans to meet complex and changing needs.
- Provide skilled, high-quality clinical care while staying current with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Use critical thinking to make sound clinical decisions, evaluate outcomes, address concerns, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Apply evidence-based practice and demonstrate accountability within the care team and healthcare system.
- Serve as a trusted clinical resource, mentor, and leader in supporting staff development and patient care excellence.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services in collaboration with colleagues.
