This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Program (IRP) at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. The IRP is a CARF-accredited, stroke-certified rehabilitation unit that cares for medically complex patients, including those recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, kidney and liver transplants, heart transplants (including LVAD support), amputations, select joint replacements, and patients receiving oncology, dialysis, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The unit offers broad clinical exposure and learning opportunities, functioning similarly to a medical-surgical setting without telemetry monitoring. Patients receive a minimum of three hours of therapy daily, and nursing staff play a crucial role in reinforcing therapy goals and promoting functional independence. This position is ideal for RNs who value patient education, rehabilitation nursing, teamwork, and long-term patient impact, while developing strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
