About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! This is a 13-week seasonal contract, PRN, for day shifts. The Labor and Delivery unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Our leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes Level III Maternal and Neonatal Designation. The unit has 10 Labor and Delivery Suites, 4 obstetrical emergency beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 PACU beds, and 5 high-risk antepartum beds.

Requirements

A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
Min of 2 yrs L&D RN experience
A valid Registered Nurse license
The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Manage patient care.
Evaluate, recognize, and create and implement care plans.
Monitor patient progress.
Use expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
Conduct thorough assessments following practice standards using good judgment and clinical reasoning.
Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
