About The Position

Winchester Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for its Post Surgery Unit. The nurse provides care to adult patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures, including post-operative monitoring, pain management, patient education, and discharge planning in a fast-paced acute care environment. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to promote healing, recovery, and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

Graduate of a state-approved and/or accredited RN program.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

BSN strongly encouraged.
Acute care, medical-surgical, telemetry, or post-surgical nursing experience.
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for post-surgical patients.
Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
Coordinate care with surgeons, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other members of the care team.
Educate patients and families about recovery, medications, wound care, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
Promote a safe, patient-centered environment focused on quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
