About The Position

Rutherford Regional Health System is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room team. The OR is a collaborative, fast-paced environment with five operating rooms supporting primarily orthopedic and general surgery, as well as some OB/GYN procedures. Three operating rooms run full time, and team members may also float to Endoscopy. The facility recently added the da Vinci Surgical System to support minimally invasive procedures and advanced surgical care.

Typical hours are 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., plus one to two call shifts per week. The nurse provides perioperative care and works with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes. A $20,000 sign-on bonus opportunity is offered.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina or compact state RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Associate’s degree in nursing required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• One year of Operating Room RN experience preferred; candidates new to the OR may be considered based on overall experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments to ensure safe patient care.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and support efficient workflow.
• Provide age- and procedure-appropriate nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to deliver high-quality outcomes.
