About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Recovery Services team at Baptist Clay in Fleming Island, FL. This is a PRN opportunity that requires participation in call rotation. The Recovery Services team at Baptist Clay provides high-quality, patient-centered care to patients undergoing gastroenterology procedures and other outpatient services. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong assessment skills who enjoys working in a procedural environment and is passionate about patient education, safety, and exceptional outcomes. The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care before, during, and after procedures, including conscious sedation monitoring and patient recovery. Requirements

  • Hospital or outpatient procedural nursing experience (required)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required)
  • Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care.

Nice To Haves

  • Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Recovery Services, PACU, Critical Care, or Procedural Nursing Experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
  • Conscious Sedation competency or experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments before and after procedures.
  • Monitor and care for patients receiving conscious sedation in accordance with established protocols.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, disease processes, and plan of care.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, ancillary departments, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise and delegate care provided by supportive personnel.
  • Include patients and families in developing individualized plans of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
  • Responsibilities include knowledge of all areas of care to Gastroenterology and conscious sedation with ability to perform patient assessments pre/post procedure.
  • This position requires call.
