About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN day shift opportunity. The Endoscopy unit provides specialized procedural care in a collaborative environment. This role is ideal for nurses with surgical or procedural experience who enjoy patient interaction and fast-paced workflows. Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services. Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care. Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care. Responsibilities include knowledge of all areas of care to Gastroenterology and conscious sedation with ability to perform patient assessments pre/post procedure. This position requires call. Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care.
Requirements
- 1–2 years Surgical Services Experience
- Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Conscious Sedation Certification
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Prepare patients and rooms for procedures
- Coordinate care with ancillary services
- Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery
- Complete documentation and patient assessments
- Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services
- Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
- Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
- Knowledge of all areas of care to Gastroenterology and conscious sedation with ability to perform patient assessments pre/post procedure
