Registered Nurse, 4 West, Neurology/Neurosurgery, 24 Hours, Nights
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and following nursing practice standards. The role is in the 4 West Neurology/Neurosurgery unit and is scheduled for 24 hours per week on night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The schedule includes every third weekend and every third holiday. The nurse provides and coordinates care throughout the patient’s stay, from admission through discharge, in a manner appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population. The position requires current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration, as well as BLS unless current ACLS certification applies, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies as required. A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred. The stated hiring range is $39.89–$87.15, based on a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. Part-time or reduced-schedule compensation is prorated based on scheduled weekly hours and other stated factors. A signing bonus may be available; eligibility will be confirmed during the interview process.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification applies; any unit-specific certifications and competencies are also required as applicable.
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to deliver and manage patient care from admission through discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to standard procedure.
- Develop and coordinate an individual plan of care, including discharge planning.
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
- Delegate appropriately in accordance with job descriptions and competency levels.
