About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, quality clinical care and serves as a Team Leader to patient care staff. The nurse leads direct care providers to support appropriate medication and treatment administration, documentation, family teaching, care planning, patient care conferencing, and compliance with Health Campus policies and procedures. The role uses the nursing process to deliver care and maintain continuity from admission through discharge and return to family and community. The RN visits residents on the assigned unit daily to assess their physical and emotional status, reports changes in condition to appropriate clinical personnel, responds to resident problems and emergencies, and completes necessary administrative documentation.

Requirements

• Maintain a current, valid state RN license.
• Hold current, valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct care providers to ensure appropriate execution of medications and treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning, and patient care conferencing in compliance with Health Campus policies and procedures.
• Use the nursing process to deliver patient care and ensure continuity from admission through discharge and return to family and community.
• Visit residents on the assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate their physical and emotional status.
• Notify the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing when a resident’s condition changes.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician.
• Complete administrative duties as necessary, including medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
