About The Position

Park Nicollet is hiring a PreOp/PostOp/PACU/Endoscopy RN for its Ambulatory Surgery Center teams. The position is part of the Same Day Surgery Center team in Shakopee, with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Centers as needed. The fast-paced, multispecialty surgical center is seeking team members to support growing services and provide patient care in its surgery centers. This RN role provides direct patient care in ambulatory settings, either directly or by coordinating and supervising care provided by assistive personnel. The nurse uses a systematic approach to practice—including assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation—in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards, and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Duties also include admitting and discharging patients and supporting endoscopy procedures. Previous experience in the designated area is preferred.

Requirements

• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse license.
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines.
• ACLS and PALS certifications, or willingness to obtain them within three months.
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure patient safety.
• Ability to work well on a team and maintain a positive outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Preoperative, postoperative, or PACU experience.
• Inpatient, emergency room, or ICU experience.
• Endoscopy experience.
• Previous experience in the designated area.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in ambulatory settings.
• Coordinate and supervise patient care provided by assistive personnel, as applicable.
• Apply a systematic nursing practice approach involving assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation, consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, professional standards, and Park Nicollet Health Services policy.
• Perform duties in admitting and discharging patients.
• Support endoscopy procedures.
• Travel occasionally to alternate Same Day Surgery Center sites as needed.
