About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care. The professional nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide total, comprehensive care to patients by applying the nursing process in an organized and systemic manner according to hospital policy. You will communicate proactively to the health care team, plan of care, changes in patient condition, patient progress, the discharge plan and other relevant information. You will complete admissions according to policy utilizing a multi-system approach for assessment and reassessment, and document assessment/reassessment, plan, interventions and outcomes according to policy and interpret and utilize clinical data in the plan of care. This includes performing accurate and thorough nursing physical assessments, reassessing patient condition per policy, interpreting and utilizing clinical data in the plan of care, assessing patients for potential risk factors, recognizing and integrating patient special needs and individualizing care, including pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care, adhering to infection control standards specific to patient care, assuming accountability for managing the delivery of patient care, learning policies and nursing procedures and communicating them, participating in discharge planning using a multi-disciplinary approach, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, and assisting patients/families with grieving processes and end-of-life cases as appropriate.

Requirements

  • BSN or BS/BA degree in Nursing required.
  • Current RN Pennsylvania state license required.
  • Current BLS required.
  • ACLS required or obtained by completion of orientation if applicable to area of practice.
  • Previous acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities
