About The Position

Established in 1986, the Anchor Hospital is a 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for Adolescents, Adults and Senior Adults. Located in College Park, Anchor Hospital serves Mental Health and Substance Abuse patients from all over the Southeast through our Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Outpatient, and Tricare program for active duty and veterans. We are committed to excellence in diagnosis, treatment and education. Patients who come to Anchor Hospital are in crisis, and the road to recovery for behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse patients is a difficult one. The staff at Anchor Hospital serves as compassionate guides who provide for our patients’ clinical needs. This position will also track patient appointments; ensuring patients are seen by the MD as dictated by their program status and organizing these physician visits. RN must also take vital signs as needed, facilitates and documents nursing groups. Requires strong foundational medical knowledge, including the ability to interpret laboratory results (e.g., urinalysis) and assess key physiological systems in patients undergoing detoxification.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered Georgia RN License or Multi State Equivalent
  • 2 year experience working in Addiction and or Behavioral Health
  • Nursing degree from an accredited university or college, Associates or BSN

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years working in acute medical setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes medical screening for new patients upon admission to the Lodge, according to level of care procedures
  • Monitors medication process, completes medication distribution and supervising the self-administration process
  • Prepares Medication Administration Record
  • Provides patient education (group and individual) regarding medications/effects
  • Responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient’s treatment through patient assessment, ongoing contact with the patients and communication with the treatment team
  • Coordinates all patient meetings with the physician, physician orders and documents patient medications
  • Advocates for the patient’s access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact
  • Tracks patient appointments; ensuring patients are seen by the MD as dictated by their program status and organizing these physician visits
  • Takes vital signs as needed
  • Facilitates and documents nursing groups
