About The Position

Catholic Eldercare is hiring an on-call Registered Nurse for one of its assisted living facilities in Northeast Minneapolis. The RN supports residents by following their plans of care, observing their physical and psychosocial status, and reporting and responding to changes in condition. The RN also plans and carries out shift routines and directs, observes, and evaluates personnel working on the unit.

The on-call expectation is two shifts every 30 days and one holiday per year. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Catholic Eldercare describes its workplace as a tight-knit, friendly, and collaborative community. The organization operates residential services including assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory care, transitional care, and adult day services.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as an RN in Minnesota.
• At least one year of experience as an RN.
• Knowledge and understanding of rehabilitation nursing concepts.
• Clinical competence in using the nursing process to perform physical and cognitive assessments of residents.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including visual and auditory acuity.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Meet residents’ needs by following their plans of care.
• Round to observe residents’ physical and psychosocial status.
• Report and respond to changes in residents’ conditions as appropriate.
• Plan, direct, and carry out shift routines.
• Direct, observe, and evaluate the work of personnel on the unit.
