About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the OB Unit at Chicago, IL. The role is Per Diem, Level 2, requiring 72-110 hours per six-week schedule. The shift is Day Shift (7a-7p), with weekend and holiday requirements per level guidelines, and a call requirement. The nurse will float within the Family Birth Center.

Requirements

  • 2 years of current Labor and Delivery/Nursery Level II nurse experience Required
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
  • Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
  • Current Illinois Nursing licensure
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
  • Maintains competency reflective of current standards practice.
  • Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
  • Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
