About The Position

The Registered Nurse plays an essential role in delivering high-quality member care within diverse healthcare settings. This position involves comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care to promote member health and recovery. The Registered Nurse collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and member-centered care, advocating for members needs and educating them and their families about health management. The role demands proficiency in managing complex medical and surgical cases, including telemetry monitoring and wound care, to optimize clinical outcomes. Ultimately, the Registered Nurse contributes significantly to improving member safety, comfort, and overall well-being through evidence-based nursing practices and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical/surgical nursing and direct member care.
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and wound care techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or Wound Care Certification.
  • Experience working with nurse practitioners or in advanced practice nursing roles.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct member care by assessing members conditions, administering medications, and performing treatments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Educate members and their families on disease management, post-discharge care, and health promotion to empower informed decision-making.
  • Perform wound care management, including assessment, dressing changes, and monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor members using telemetry equipment to detect cardiac and respiratory irregularities and respond promptly to emergencies.
  • Advocate for members rights and needs by coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and individualized care plans.
  • Document all nursing interventions, member responses, and clinical observations accurately and timely in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to optimize member outcomes and support continuity of care.
