The Registered Nurse works in the Emergency Department at Parkview Regional Medical Center, a verified Level 2 Adult and Pediatric Trauma center. The department has an L-shaped layout with 40 rooms: 23 non-monitored single rooms, 13 monitored rooms that can accommodate two patients when needed, and four resuscitation bays for critical trauma and medical patients. The department uses a Team Nursing approach to support seamless patient care and flow between care providers. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Nurses may be scheduled for any shift and will not float to other units or departments. The role involves emergency nursing and requires at least two years of Emergency Department experience. The department uses EPIC for charting and Pyxis for medication administration. Orientation is eight-hour days, Monday through Friday in week one and Monday through Tuesday in week two; attendance is mandatory for all seven orientation days. Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation. Clinicians returning within 12 months of their last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation. The client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment. A local rate applies to clinicians whose permanent address is within 50 miles.
