About The Position
Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 4 West Observation Unit in Wilmington, Delaware. The unit is a 24-bed limited-stay unit that typically cares for general medical-surgical patients whose care is guided by protocols. It has single-patient rooms that can also serve as isolation rooms, with the goal of providing high-quality, high-value care within 72 hours. Patient rooms are equipped with oxygen, compressed air, suction, cardiorespiratory bedside monitors, and computers for accessing electronic medical records and supporting barcode medication administration. Daily family-centered care rounds promote an interprofessional approach and partnership with patients and families. The Registered Nurse implements the patient care delivery model for patients and families and is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The casual schedule requires a minimum of 48 hours per six-week block, one 12-hour weekend per block, and two holidays per year.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Must be eligible for a Delaware State license or compact license.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Complete a BSN within three years of hire if not already completed.
