Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The nurse uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate communication, and clinical skills while helping create a safe patient environment and a positive experience across the continuum of care. The role is based in a busy PACU at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, a Level I trauma center with 18 recovery bays and a typical 2:1 patient ratio. Call is required. The schedule includes rotating schedules and weekend commitments.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification.
