About The Position

This posting supports all new grad Registered Nursing positions at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, Hampton, Virginia. All statuses/shifts and all units currently placing new graduate Registered Nurses are included. Sentara offers a Nurse Residency Program for newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience, providing skills and support for a successful transition into professional practice. The program includes automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses, is available at all 12 Sentara hospitals, and begins after orientation. It offers 6 months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. Topics covered include career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse.
• Participate in a 6-month Nurse Residency Program with hands-on experience.
• Engage in training on topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
