About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in the South Emergency Department, a freestanding facility located 2 miles from the larger ED. The department treats patients from pediatrics through geriatrics and handles a broad range of conditions, including lacerations requiring repair, abdominal pain, pediatric complaints, mental health evaluations, stroke alerts, and cardiac arrests. The unit has 11 beds, an average daily census of 36, and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3. The position requires floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed, with possible floating to Piedmont Eastside Main. Nurses work every other weekend unless otherwise specified. Holiday assignments depend on the number of major holidays occurring during the assignment: one holiday means working it; two means working both; and three means working two. There are no call requirements. Scrubs are navy blue. Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length. Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be pushed back by two weeks due to the biweekly orientation schedule.
