About The Position

Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. This position is responsible for assessing clients and documenting pertinent information, including triage, behavioral health, physical health, and substance abuse issues. The role also requires the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations, perform crisis intervention, and educate clients and their families about behavioral health diagnoses, medications, and treatments. CCH has been providing treatment services for over 50 years with a mission to offer compassionate and encouraging counseling for positive life changes.

Requirements

  • Washington State Department of Health Registered Nurse credential is required, or a multistate licensure privilege that includes Washington State.
  • BLS Certificate required.
  • Experience assessing, treating, and managing acute wounds is required.
  • Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background check at hire and annually thereafter.
  • National background check if have not lived in WA State consecutively the last 3 years.
  • Must be physically able to pass violence prevention training and perform MOAB techniques.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the personnel office.

Responsibilities

  • Completes detailed nursing assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including triage, medical/behavioral health assessments, and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools.
  • Accurately records all medication brought in by individual.
  • Plans individual treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team.
  • Provides education concerning psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual’s care.
  • Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of seclusion/restraint standards, guidelines, techniques and initiates documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required.
  • Accurately transcribes provider orders and administers medications as prescribed.
  • Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form.
  • Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed.
  • Draw labs and provides minor wound care as ordered by providers when required.
  • Completes nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility.
