About The Position

The Professional Staff Nurse plans, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee. The nurse performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. This is a per-diem, night-shift role in the PCU.

Requirements

• Hold a Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• Have CPR certification (Basic Life Support).
• Have Basic EKG certification.
• Obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Successfully complete the GSMC medication test.
• Successfully complete the GSMC EKG test.
• Have at least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
• Develop a written plan of care using assessment data and provide teaching and guidance to patients, families, and staff members.
• Implement nursing plans of care for assigned patients and communicate and document patient activities, needs, and assessments.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions and teaching.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
