About The Position

The Professional Staff Nurse plans, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee. The role performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties, along with other duties as assigned. This is a per diem, seasonal position on the PCU night shift.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
• CPR certification (Basic Life Support).
• Basic EKG certification.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of the GSMC medication test.
• Successful completion of the GSMC EKG test.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
• Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
• Provide teaching and guidance to patients, families, and staff members.
• Implement the nursing plan of care for assigned patients.
• Communicate and document patient activities, needs, and assessments.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions and teaching.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
