About The Position

The Medical Short Stay (MSS) unit, located on the 8th floor of the Tower at West Penn Hospital, is a 26-bed unit with 12 private and 6 semi-private rooms. It provides care to patients with blood cancer and autoimmune diseases, including various infusion therapies like biological and anticancer treatments. Nurses on this unit are educated on new protocols and participate in innovations for new treatments for this special patient population. The unit also serves as a collection center for cellular therapies such as Stem Cells, Chimeric Antigen Receptors (Car- T Cells), and Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILS) via apheresis procedures. Nurses working in MSS are educated and trained to be competent in all aspects of nursing care within the department. Requirements

  • Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities
