About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Nursing Float Pool at Vassar Brothers Medical Center uses the nursing process to provide quality, age-appropriate patient care consistent with the organization’s philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures. The position is based at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, a 349-bed regional tertiary teaching hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• At least one year of hospital medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS certification.
• The work involves significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity; significant occupational risk; very heavy physical effort, with exertion of up to 50 pounds; and significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
