Valley Hope of Atchison is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for night shifts at its residential addiction treatment facility in Atchison, Kansas. The facility provides residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment, and nurses provide compassionate medical care to patients throughout their treatment, typically from admission to discharge over 30–45 days. The work is described as mission-focused and more relaxed than a standard hospital setting. The Registered Nurse carries out prescribed treatments and medication interventions, implements nursing care according to Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, and supports patients through detoxification. The role includes conducting detox admissions, assessing patients, administering detox treatment plans, monitoring patients, documenting care, communicating with colleagues, responding to medical emergencies, maintaining infection-control practices, and overseeing non-licensed nursing staff as directed. The scheduled shift is 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The position may also require evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime based on facility needs. The work is performed in a residential treatment facility and involves direct patient contact, walking throughout the facility, working at a rapid pace for extended periods (typically no longer than 12 hours), and performing a range of physical activities, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting adults weighing 100–250 pounds. Starting base pay is $37–$42 per hour, based on education and experience. Night and weekend shift differentials are listed separately.
