Requirements

Current R.N. license in the State of Maine.
Current CPR certification required.
Minimum one year of recent clinical nursing experience required.
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Compassionate presence and comfort working with patients and families at end of life.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based inpatient setting.

Nice To Haves

hospice, palliative care, oncology, ICU, or med-surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in an inpatient hospice house setting under the direction of the physician’s plan of care.
Deliver expert pain and symptom management for patients at end of life.
Perform ongoing comprehensive assessments and respond proactively to changes in patient condition.
Develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
Collaborate closely with hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, providers, and volunteers.
Participate in admissions, discharges, and transitions of care within the hospice house.
