About The Position

Provides clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting, fostering patient- and family-centered care. Demonstrates clinical competency by applying evidence-based practices and research throughout the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. Incorporates safety protocols, cost containment, and quality improvement into care, and addresses patient, unit, and organizational priorities. Complies with organizational policies and procedures, including licensure renewal, required training, employee health screenings, time and attendance, dress code, confidentiality, infection control, and medication administration. The nurse monitors patient status and responses to interventions, coordinates and delegates care appropriately, supports patient safety, evaluates outcomes, documents progress, and contributes to quality improvement. The RN also identifies and addresses patient and family learning needs, communicates across the healthcare team, advocates for patients, and maintains professional competency and licensure.
