About The Position

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) is seeking a Full Time Evening Shift Registered Nurse (RN) for their Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program (PRTF) in West Chester, PA. This role involves working with adolescent females and males who have autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges. The program focuses on providing clinical treatment, educational instruction, and behavioral intervention services. The nurse will be part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of young people, contributing to their growth and development. The program utilizes a Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS) philosophy to create safe and supportive living environments. Each year, over 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care aimed at equipping them with the necessary academic, social, emotional, and life skills to thrive in their communities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing with a B.S.N., Diploma or A.D.
• Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• One year of post-education nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with individuals with cognitive and/or behavioral challenges or medically complex conditions.
• Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications.
• Experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
• Valid driver's license must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Work with children and adolescents with special needs.
• Provide nursing care within a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program (PRTF).
• Work with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges.
• Contribute to clinical treatment, educational instruction, and behavioral intervention services.
• Maintain a valid driver's license.
• Adhere to Devereux's zero-tolerance policy for abuse and cooperate with authorities.
