Registered Nurse (RN) - Primary Care
About The Position
Sentara Medical Group–Internal Medicine Princess Anne Clinic is hiring a full-time Primary Care Registered Nurse in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The nurse provides patient care and supports clinical operations in an ambulatory clinic, collaborating with providers and care team members to deliver patient-centered service. The role assesses and triages patients, assists with examinations and procedures, administers medications and immunizations, and provides patient education and care coordination. It also includes managing patient communications, triage, and follow-up between visits; documenting care in the electronic health record; supporting prevention and population health outreach; and helping maintain a safe and efficient practice. The position is scheduled for the first (day) shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN examination.
- Current state RN license.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, ambulatory care, or chronic disease management is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and perform in-person and telephone triage.
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
- Provide patient education and self-management support.
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
- Manage patient messages and results within scope.
- Support prevention and population health outreach.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
- Document care in the electronic health record.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
