Regions Hospital is seeking a patient-focused Registered Nurse for its Inpatient Rehab Unit. The unit serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients who are recovering from illness or injury and have limitations in physical or cognitive functioning. Patients may be admitted from general care areas, other hospitals or facilities, and occasionally directly from the ICU. The rehabilitation nursing team helps patients become as independent as possible in daily living through effective, efficient, and culturally sensitive rehabilitation services. As part of a Level I Trauma Center, the team cares for patients with brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, burns, amputations, and other traumatic injuries. The hospital’s rehabilitation programs are CARF-certified for general rehabilitation, stroke specialty rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, and spinal cord rehabilitation. Regions Hospital’s Professional Nursing Practice Model emphasizes patient- and family-centered bedside care. Nurses are empowered to manage their clinical practice and work environment through a Shared Governance Model focused on evidence-based nursing practice. New-hire registered nurses receive individualized orientation and are automatically enrolled in the Transition to Regions Hospital Practice nurse residency program, designed to support learning, role transition, and retention. The schedule is 0.70 FTE on nights, consisting of 8-hour shifts, with an every-other-weekend rotation.
