RN, Registered Nurse Family Birthing Center: PRN
About The Position
Firelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Family Birthing Center on a PRN basis. This role involves implementing the nursing process, performing patient assessments, monitoring care, and documenting interventions. The nurse will also instruct patients, staff, and family members on treatments and care plans, respond to emergencies, and maintain the availability of medications and supplies. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating service excellence and embodying the company's ACE values (Attitude, Commitment, Enthusiasm), acting as an ambassador for Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC). The position offers a flexible work-life balance with a minimum of 24 hours per month, including a weekend shift requirement, and is located in Sandusky, a desirable coastal town on Lake Erie.
Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license
- CPR certification prior to patient care experience
- Current ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer proficiency
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience
- Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise
Responsibilities
- Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
- Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
- Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
- Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
- Demonstrate service excellence and ACE – Attitude, Commitment, Enthusiasm.
- Act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
