Registered Nurse - OR - Days
About The Position
The Perioperative Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during the perioperative period, using specialized knowledge and skills to achieve desired patient outcomes. The nurse serves as a patient advocate, assesses the surgical environment for potential patient safety concerns, and intervenes appropriately while working with the surgical team to facilitate completion of surgical procedures. The nurse may also orient new staff, contribute to educational programs, and secure and maintain supplies and equipment needed for care. This is a full-time position at Glenbrook Hospital, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in four 10-hour shifts, with rotating call shifts that include nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
- Illinois RN license.
- CPR BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Two years of RN experience in perioperative care.
