About The Position
State Farm Work Center #02024 is seeking a Registered Nurse I to provide nursing care within adult institutions. This role utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating institutional patients per the standards of practice. Care is delivered through 24-hour nursing care, telemedicine, chronic care clinics, sick call screenings/triage, medication administration, patient education, and basic life supporting/emergency care. The Registered Nurse will document all pertinent information into the health record, practice confidentiality, and interface with other departments as needed. This position involves delegating tasks/workload and working hours, days, and locations as assigned, with the capability and availability to provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs. The role also focuses on providing evidence-based nursing care and promoting continued competence through education/certification with a focus on correctional nursing. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain valid unrestricted Virginia RN license (if you are a recent graduate of a nursing program in VA and not yet licensed, NCLEX-RN Exam must be scheduled at time of application)
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American. Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required upon hire

Responsibilities
