Requirements

Valid Michigan RN license
At least one year of RN experience required, preferably in Labor and Delivery
BLS required

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred
ACLS, NRP, and TEAM certifications required within one year of hire

Responsibilities

Taking vitals for the mom and baby
Administering medication
Monitoring contractions
Identifying complications during labor and delivery
Communicating the mom’s condition and needs to the CNM and/or Physician
Coaching the mom during labor and delivery
Caring for the mom after she gives birth
Caring for newborn
Participating in unit specific/hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and assist with activities that enhance quality of nursing practices
