The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac/Telemetry Unit provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. The nurse uses the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and teaching for patients and families. The role includes communicating pertinent patient and family information to the health care team, participating in solutions when patient goals are not met, and ensuring those solutions are implemented. The unit-based contingent option reports directly to the Unit Manager or Unit Director and meets all Registered Nurse accountabilities. The position is on a 34-bed telemetry/progressive care unit that receives rapid responses from other hospital units. Patients and care needs include post-cardiac interventions; AICD and pacemaker insertions; cardiac ablation; TAVR and Watchman procedures; chest pain; STEMI/NSTEMI; and AIRVO. All staff are ACLS certified.
