About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides care and education for patients based on their illnesses, symptoms, and courses of treatment. The role manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The position is with the Baptist Gulf Breeze Medical Unit and is listed for days.

Requirements

• Technical Diploma/Certificate in Nursing or an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse license in Florida or an eligible compact state, required upon hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association, required upon hire.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) certification, required upon hire.
• Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
• Develop, discuss, and communicate a realistic plan of care for each patient in collaboration with the patient and significant other to address identified needs.
• Implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures using the necessary skills and judgment.
• Evaluate identified problems, care provided, and patient responses; reassess to meet patient and family needs and support quality care.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of nursing care to integrate information for the healthcare team and support quality care.
• Perform department responsibilities within the scope of service, addressing each client’s unique needs; provide teaching and communication to patients and support persons.
• Promote effective working relationships and work effectively as part of the department or unit to help meet its goals and objectives.
• Maintain current knowledge, certifications, and licensure, and pursue professional growth and development.
