About The Position
This position involves assisting the Director of Nursing Services in overseeing the healthcare of assigned children, including screening, education, and training of staff and clients on health-related matters. The role also includes providing emergency medical oversight, assisting with health care systems like infection control and employee health, and monitoring Child Care staff in their health care responsibilities. The nurse will also support the Director of Nursing in other assigned duties related to client and staff healthcare.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse with a valid Louisiana license.
- Two years of experience preferred in working with an adolescent population.
- Must have a fundamental love for children and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.
- Must possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity, and integrity for an influential and authoritarian role with youth and staff.
- Must have strong, positive interpersonal skills to work with youth and staff.
- Must have a strong work ethic.
- Must be willing to work under the supervision of the Director of Health Care Services.
- Must be willing to commit to significant job responsibilities.
- Must have excellent organizational, teaching, and leadership skills.
- Must be able to function effectively as a team member of the professional staff with a focus on problem-solving and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in the screening and oversight of the health care of all children assigned to their care.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in education and training of staff and clients as directed in health care issues, policies, and procedures.
- Provide emergency oversight of medical services as needed for clients and staff.
- Assist as directed in the maintenance of systems and processes related to health care functions to include infection control, employee health, and other areas as assigned.
- Maintain high standards of personal and interpersonal functioning in job performance.
- Monitor Child Care staff in the performances of their health care responsibilities.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in other duties as assigned in areas related to the provisions of health care for clients and staff.
