This is a part-time Registered Nurse position in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Carolinas Medical Center. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with appropriate action taken as needed. Medication administration, treatment, and therapy administration are part of the role, adhering to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate, timely EHR documentation are also required. The nurse may be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
