About The Position

This role involves providing direct patient care in an orthopedic clinic setting. The Registered Nurse will conduct physical exams, implement physician orders, administer medications and treatments, and maintain medical records. Responsibilities include patient education, coordinating post-operative services, and managing clinic visits. The position requires a compassionate and professional individual who can effectively communicate with patients, families, and staff, while adhering to confidentiality policies and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current, unencunbranced Colorado RN license is required.
  • Current BLS required within six (6) months of employment or transfer.
  • Knowledge of current nursing trends and practices, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Previous experience working as an RN in a healthcare facility required.

  • Communicate positively and effectively, both written and verbally, with patients, family, and staff, and people of all ages.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills in an evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical exams to assess patient health needs and problems.
  • Implement physicians’ orders, such as performing treatments, starting IVs, administering medications, and interpreting tests.
  • Perform injections and joint aspirations.
  • Review and maintain medical records.
  • Administer direct care to injured, disabled, ill or convalescent patients.
  • Document pertinent information and medication administration.
  • Counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
  • Continuously assess patient health.
  • Implement and develop nursing care plans.
  • Responsible for patient education during the pre- and post-operative periods.
  • Receive patients, explain procedures, check vital signs, administer therapy, monitor reactions, and report information to physicians.
  • Navigate emergency situations as they arise.
  • Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered throughout the entire care continuum.
  • Arrange Post-Operative services including physical and occupational therapy, lab checks, and follow ups with the primary care physician and surgeon.
  • Schedule clinic visits as well as connect the patient with the lab, radiology, surgery, finance, and physical therapy.
  • Serve as a role model to ancillary staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
