Requirements

Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.
Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities.
Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Responsibilities

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform comprehensive data collection, analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, develop a plan of care, implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, employ strategies for health teaching and promotion, provide consultation, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010), including enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, attaining knowledge and competency, evaluating one's own practice, interacting with and contributing to the professional development of peers, collaborating with patient and family, integrating ethical provisions and research findings into practice, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice, providing leadership, and practicing in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.
Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state and delivers competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, regulators, and accreditation/certifying organizations.
Abides by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and to access work-related applications.
Continuously seeks out opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem solving.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
