About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Vascular Access Department at Texas Health Plano, providing care across the hospital and supporting multiple units. The role offers opportunities for autonomy and independent practice within a close-knit, collaborative, patient-centered team. The RN delivers care using the nursing process, including assessing patients, planning and providing care, and evaluating interventions. The role incorporates age-specific safety and infection-control measures, responds to patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintains continuity of care between shifts and hospitals and during out-of-hospital transfers.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited nursing program or a nursing diploma.
At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
Current proficiency with ultrasound-guided IV insertion, midline placement, and/or PICC placement.
Experience providing vascular access services across multiple patient-care settings.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Previous Vascular Access Team (VAT) experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
