About The Position

Fairview Range is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department in Hibbing, MN. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to patients as well as indirect care within the Emergency Department as well as oversees unit operations for a shift when functioning as charge nurse. We are a Level IV trauma center and an Acute Stroke Ready hospital. We provide life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day, with an adjacent Urgent Care department seeing lower acuity patients 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position is part time, 48-60 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 12 hours on the day/night shift. Weekends: Every third weekend. The unit has 17 ER beds including 2 standalone trauma bays and utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies. The care delivery team includes Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians and advanced practice providers, RNs, LPNs, Unit Assistants, a dedicated Social Worker, and a dedicated Security Officer. Telemedicine services include Telestroke and Telepsych. The patient population includes all ages. Requirements

Current Minnesota RN licensure.
Current BLS certification required and maintains certification.
Current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification or attains ACLS and PALS prior to the end of orientation and TNCC within 1 year.

Nice To Haves

1 year of Emergency Department or 2 years of ICU experience preferred.
Will consider minimum of 1-year critical care experience recently (experience within past year) OR 2 years of Med/Surg/Peds experience recently (experience within past 6 months) if no candidate meets preferred experience criteria.

Responsibilities

Perform a primary, secondary and focused survey according to established policies.
Demonstrate awareness of age-specific criteria in obtaining assessment data.
Identify patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis based on analysis of collected data and incorporates into an individualized plan of care.
Analyze assessment data, identify problems and develop the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significant other and resource personnel.
Provide age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines according to standards of care.
Recognize and report adverse patient condition to the physician in a timely manner.
