About The Position

Burnett Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in its Surgical Services Department. The Surgical Services Registered Nurse coordinates total perioperative nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, conducts preoperative phone calls and chart reviews, and provides leadership while working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards. The position works 64 hours per pay period in 8-hour shifts with varying start times, rotating call, and time as a circulator. It is benefit-eligible.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a diploma or degree.
Knowledge of current general nursing standards and current surgical/perioperative nursing standards.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse people.
Skill in using computers and related software applications.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal directions and instructions.

Nice To Haves

Current certification in ACLS, PALS, or NRP, or obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
Previous operating room or perioperative experience, or completion of Peri-op 101 or an equivalent course.

Responsibilities
