About The Position

Texas Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Neuro Tele department at Texas Health Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas. The 30-bed department cares for a wide variety of neuro-telemetry patients, including those with stroke, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, medical overflow needs, and telemetry needs. The unit is known for teamwork and has had many DFW Great 100 Nurses. The nurse delivers patient care using the Nursing Process, incorporating age-specific safety and infection-control measures. The role works 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and includes weekend and holiday requirements. The department offers self-scheduling, opportunities for educational and career growth, a robust Unit Based Council, and an engaged leadership team.

Requirements

Nursing diploma or associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
Current BLS certification before providing independent patient care.
ACLS certification within 90 days.
CPI training within 90 days of hire.
One year of experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Two or more years of strong medical-surgical, neuro, or telemetry RN experience in an acute care setting, including charge or preceptor skills preferred.
NIHSS certification within six months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patients.
Plan patient care.
Intervene as appropriate.
Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Incorporate age-specific safety and infection-control measures into patient care.
Initiate action to meet patients’ and significant others’ needs for information.
Maintain continuity of patient care between shifts and hospitals, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
