About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the 30-bed Neuro Tele Department at Texas Health Fort Worth, caring for a wide variety of patients, including those with stroke, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, medical overflow needs, and telemetry needs. The department emphasizes teamwork, offers self-scheduling, and supports educational and career growth through engaged leadership and a robust Unit Based Council. The nurse delivers patient care using the Nursing Process: assessing patients, planning and providing care, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also includes applying age-specific safety and infection-control measures, responding to patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintaining continuity of care across shifts, hospitals, and transfers out of the hospital.

Requirements

Nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Current RN license or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
Current BLS certification before providing independent patient care.
ACLS certification within 90 days.
CPI training within 90 days of hire.
One year of experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Two or more years of strong medical-surgical, Neuro, or Tele RN experience in an acute care setting, including charge or preceptor skills preferred.
NIHSS within six months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities
