RN Registered Nurse Radiology Care Unit Full-time
About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) for the Radiology Care Unit (RCU) in a Full-time capacity. This role is at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a Magnet-designated regional referral center serving Tarrant County and surrounding communities since 1930. The position involves working 40 hours per week, with four 10-hour shifts (either 6:00 AM-4:30 PM or 7:30 AM-6 PM, Monday-Friday), and includes self-scheduled call requirements within a 1-hour response time for the department. The Radiology Care Unit offers self-scheduling for call to promote work/life balance, has a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team. The unit provides care for Outpatient Interventional Radiology & CT Pre-Op and Recovery, as well as Inpatient anesthesia recovery.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma
- CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency must be complied with.
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire
- NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification 6 months Required.
- A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves

- Experience as a PACU/Recovery, ED or ICU RN Highly Preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
- Functions in various job roles including outpatient Interventional Radiology (IR) and Computed Tomography (CT) pre-op, outpatient IR and CT recovery, and inpatient IR anesthesia recovery.
- Floats to CT for procedures needing moderate sedation.
- Performs pre-procedure phone calls and order entry for IR and CT outpatients.
- Administers Albumin.
