About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Surgical ICU/ICU Stepdown at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee, on a full-time night schedule. The role implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the health-care team.

Requirements

• Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire or job transfer.
• BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer.
• Registered Nurse license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing, or a current home-state license qualifying for multistate recognition in a Compact State, obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of acute care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge-planning needs with members of the health-care team.
