About The Position

Lumexa Imaging is coming to Asheville, North Carolina, later this year, expanding its network of over 185 outpatient imaging centers across 13 states. As a leading provider of outpatient imaging services, Lumexa Imaging is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and exceptional patient satisfaction through advanced technology and cost-effective solutions. The Registered Nurse (RN) will serve as an onsite clinical presence, providing direct patient care and emergency response services under virtual supervision. This role is crucial for ensuring patient safety during contrast procedures and managing medical emergencies within the center.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
  • IV credentialed
  • Current North Carolina RN License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Must have a current license in the appropriate State aligned with clinical scope practice including but not limited to radiologic technologists, paramedics, EMTs, registered nurses, advanced practice practitioners, and physicians.

  • Knowledge of current technical skills and procedural understanding of MRI Safety

Responsibilities

  • Provide an onsite clinical presence for contrast when direct supervision is afforded virtually by a licensed provider.
  • Perform rapid response services in the event of a medical emergency in the center, including providing immediate medical care and life support services under the supervision of the virtual licensed provider.
  • Serve as the point of contact for third-party emergency personnel responding to a 911 call.
  • Administer advanced life support, medications, and perform patient evaluations based on skill sets and scope of practice.
  • Coordinate the Rapid Response to medical emergencies in the center.
  • Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform a preliminary diagnosis.
  • Administer necessary medications and treatments within scope of practice, such as oxygen, glucose, or epinephrine.
  • Use clinical equipment and/or medications to stabilize patients or provide emergency response treatment.
  • Collaborate with police, firefighting units, doctors, etc.
  • Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) as needed.
  • Greet and escort patients, explain procedures, and provide pre-exam screening.
  • Assist patients on/off the table when requested by the technologist.
  • Support technologists throughout scan and contrast administration.
  • Manage post-scan patient hand-off.
  • Ensure an efficient, friendly, and smooth patient experience and throughput.
  • Monitor center modality schedules and adjust patient schedules as necessary.
  • Start I.V.’s and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
  • Create a positive patient and customer experience by representing the Lumexa Way.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
  • Attend all Company required OSHA training, annual training, and mandatory Company updates.
  • Assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, adequately stocked, and safe patient environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with in-center staff, virtual licensed provider, and patients.
  • Prepare room set up between patients.
  • Help the technologist stay on time by having the next patient ready.
  • Provide front-end coverage as needed.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
