About The Position

Woodland Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Registered Nurse for its behavioral health hospital in Conroe, Texas. The role supports the department’s clinical, operational, and administrative needs and delivers quality nursing care in accordance with treatment plans, hospital policies, and nursing competencies. The position works a 3x12 night schedule, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license as required by state regulations.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• De-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment, and to take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a psychiatric health-care facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, plan care within established timeframes, and document findings according to policies.
• Oversee and supervise the shift.
• Delegate tasks, which may include groups, close observation, and meal supervision.
• Ensure staff follow nursing policies and procedures and deliver exemplary patient care.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately, including notifying the physician when needed.
• Administer medications according to hospital policy.
• Interact with patients with empathy, dignity, and respect.
• Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment-plan goals are carried out in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and nursing competencies.
• Assist with or perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
